Second Life Theft

Since the begninning of Second Life way back in 2002, more residents have joined, and amongst those residents, are theives. These individuals have come up with ways to get as many lindens as possible, take over land that doesn't belong to them, and much much more. The latest is one i heard today, whilst drinking my coffee, preparing for my first meeting of the day. And it was that a resident is giving an object to as many people as he can see, or comes across, which is emptying your account of any lindens you may have. This residents name is ko73 aichi, so please beware if you get offered an object from this resident, DONT accept it, otherwise you will face losing all of the money on your account.

If you would like to know more on this, please e-mail at pineapplemag@gmail.com also, if you have your own suggestion, or past problems with people like this, and want to know how we can work together to crack down on these issues, please get in touch.

What Next For SecondLife?

Since the launch of Second Life back in 2002, its really come a long way. With the groth still increasing every week, more and more Real Life business/industries are joining, to research, and make a presence In-World. Examples of these would be Nike, Reebok, Universal music group. As i have virtual businesses, i know its hard to keep them up-to date and running in this world. However, i always think to myself, where will Second Life be in the next 5 years. Will it still be running?, and most definately if it is, it will be bigger and alot more successful. Would more people be making there Real Life income/living from working in Second life? We dont know. Who knows what will happen untill then. Personally, i think Second Life will be the biggest thing on the planet in 5 years time. the growth and success of the programme is incredible, and Linden Labs have really worked hard on it, and it keep it running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all of the residents to enjoy.

If you have your own thoughts on this, and would like to discuss them with us here at pineapple magazine, please e-mail to pineapplemag@gmail.com and we will reply with a solution, or answer as soon as possible.

SL Chairities, Can We Trust them?

As Second Life grows each weeks, more and more charity organisations are appearing. However, what i want to point out, is how do we know, some of them are actual real charities. If you come across a charity organisation in Second Life, you should ask for the following information on that charity. Ask about a web-page for the group. If this is a real life charity, 99% of them will have a website, where people can read info on the group, and also donate money online. Another thing is a business/Contact card with their Real Life name, and some proof it is them. Around 90% of Charities set up in Second Life are actually Real Life organisations, and are actually collecting for a good cause. But there is still that 10% which remains anonymous, and we dont know where the money donated to those charities is going, apart from the collectors back pockets. So, when out and about in Second life looking at organisations, or even shopping, please beware about being approached by a charity collector, and please ask all the info you need to know, before donating anything.

If you want to know more on this, or have actually had problems with charities in Second Life, please e-mail your views to pineapplemag@gmail.com And we will get back to you with our own personal thoughts and advice.

Are SL relationships as good as they sound?

With more and more people becoming second life residents each month, more and more relationships are beginning, and ending. So, why do people have an SL relationship, do they last? and does it affect your RL? People in Second Life find it easier to find a partner or date than they do in Real life, however, getting the partner is the easy bit, keeping them, and making sure they are the perfect one is the catch. It is very rare in SL to have a relationship that lasts years. However there are a few which do, and that is great. I think alot of people do it for fun mainly, and to maybe, get the experience of what it is like. But...if i a relationship gets serious in-world, it can have a possible affect on your real life relationship. Im from the UK, and a couple of months ago, there was a couple who met on Second Life, and in the end, ditched there real life partners, to be together. From personal experience in second life, i have had a girlfriends who i really like, and get on with, and to only keep it in SL. But, i found that it is a dissapoitment when they dont come online. And you never see them. I know alot of people have suffered from that, and fee like they are being used. So, the question still remains, are Virtual Relationships a good thing or bad?

E-mail your comments to pineapplemag@gmail.com and we will get back to you ASAP and publish a few of them.

Whats your favourite location in SL?

If you have been in SL for a long time, you will have a favourite place. This could be a location where you like to hangout, your home, work, or even just a beauty spot. I have a number of favourite locations, my house is one of them, and my own land of course. But outside that, i like areas such as Armidi, Cetus and Mill Pond. But, what is it that actually makes a place in SL, your favourite. Is it socializing with the people there?, the experience?, the things there? For me, its places with alot of socialisation and media. Like Cetus, its a great art district in SL, and has alot of people here to socialize with. Thats why i put the HeadQaurters of Pineapple magazine there. What im trying to do, is to gather peoples thoughts on where there favourite places are, and what makes them their favourites.

Please e-mail your places, and the reasons why you like them to pineapplemag@gmail.com. It is your choice whether to include your avatar name, as some will be published when received.

Is there more for women than Men?

After being in Second life for almost 2 years now, i have constantly been hitting the stores for clothes, hair, accessories etc.. and have always found one thing, there always seems to be more items aimed at women than men. This has always intruiged me. Im however not the only one that has noticed this, but can it really be called sexism. Are women just better designers than men?, or are there more women that shop than men? We dont know, but im going to try and get to the bottom of this problem, and see what the real reasons are for more things targeting the female market than the male. Over the next few weeks, ill be heading to a number of malls and stores around Second Life, to find the answer to this problem.

If you have the same thoughts, please comment or send an e-mail (pineapplemag@gmail.com), and we will post your thoughts.

This weeks Real Life story, With a Twist.

'Drunken Winnie Bego Driver'

Two cops are set on a regular mid afternoon patrol on the 101 in North Hollywood. Of course, like a lot of American cops, they are eating the doughnuts and drinking their coffee, picked up from the last diner they passed. The Driver, Pablo, originally from Mexico, so really not a guy to mess with. And then there’s the other, CJ, born and raised in Van Nuys, California. There both pretty big guys, as are a lot of the US cops. During there patrol, they are having a general chit chat about the game the night before. Untill Pablo’s eyes get drawn to this Winnie Bego, which anybody would really, as it is swerving in and out of the fourth lane. Now… anybody could tell, this was a drunk driver. But hey, this is LA, anything happens in LA. Pablo takes his doughnut out of his mouth, and places it back into the box, whilst CJ, is gripping his coffee firmly, taking a good look at the licence plate of the vehicle. As Pablo gets nearer, the drunken guy doesn’t seem to notice, so he puts the siren on for a few seconds. After 5 attempts at this, the drunk ass finally recognises that car behind him is, LAPD. As the driver decreases his speed, he suddenly opens his door. At this point, his vehicle is practically rolling along the 101. However, the driver doesn’t seem to realise this, and begins to step out of the driver’s side, obviously. Pablo and CJ are following behind, also travelling around the same speed, 2mph. Pablo immediately says in a quiet voice, with and Mexican accent, ‘What the hell is this guy doing’. As Pablo, and other passer by driver watch in amazement, this guy steps out of his vehicle, and puts his right foot on the floor, only to be dragged along, as it is still in motion. Whilst he brand new Nike shoes are being scraped along the floor, he still has a firm grip on the door handle. Pablo stops the cop car, and runs out to stop the vehicle. After they got this guy out of the road, they found out, this is not the first time he’s been hanging around winnie begos.

Dannylee Ashbournes quotes

Some of Dannylee Ashbournes most important, self-created quotes -

'Tommorrow is the new today' - The meaning of this, is that i find more and more people are becoming lazy. Which is not good for the world, and for themselves. So, i sumed it up in 5 words. As very popular parent to son line is, 'Can you tidy your room today please' 'I'll do it tomorrow, promise'. I dont see the point in that, as better things could be around the corner. I have found out by personal experience that getting things done on the day you think about doing them, really helps you get on with whatever else needs to be done.

'You only spot and act when you know its one' - By looking a tthis one, you probably would'nt know what it was about. But if you think carefully, you will understand. I thought of this by watching a movie, and if you watch it carefully, you can really tell its not as good as they make it. Because you always will have in your head its an act, and not real.

'An Answer is like a planet, it takes a while to find' - This is a very simple one to understand i guess. I am always looking for answers in my Second life and Real life. But... you should never give up, as from personal experience, you always find the answer your looking for eventually. Just take alot more time to discover than you want it to.

If you like any of my quotes, please comment on them, or send me some of your own, that you beleive in and follow to pineapplemag@gmail.com We will post them into site.
